Sometimes I just want to relax in front of a good movie and it can be hard to find one. I started keeping track of movies I find uplifting, entertaining or interesting. If you have similar tastes to mine, you may find something you like here.

Good storytelling from a novel set in Appalachia Virginia in the early 1900’s.  Beautiful cinematography.  A 10-yr old girl and her 7-yr old brother go from NYC to Virginia to live with their great-grandmother after their father dies in a car accident accompanied by their injured and catatonic mother.

Eight players are indicted but are later acquitted of all charges. The players concerned were barred from the major leagues and the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Mona Lisa Smile- Julia Roberts, 1953-4 school year. This gives me insight into the world my mom was in when she was 15-16 years old.  Similar to the movie “On the Basis of Sex”
