"Words are the mortal clothing of inner thoughts."
-Carol B Webster
LESSON 29: Bring the Inside to the Outside
by Carol B Webster
Do you ever know things that you can't really put into words? It's like a thought that is trying to form. It is like the proverbial "it's on the tip-of-my-tongue" experience.
As I sat down to write recently, I struggled to put into words things I know and was feeling. I wanted to explain things that are deep in my heart--sacred things.
Words were not sufficient to convey the pure thoughts and feelings I was experiencing.
“In the beginning was the Word”, starts St. John… “and the Word was with God. And the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
Words…are the mortal clothing of inner thoughts.
The Word spoken of by John… could be the process of revealing an inner or upper thought (heaven/sacred) to people in the outer world (earth). That experience and process is the beginning of all creations.
Can you slow your mind down enough to experience this? Do you recognize this twilight space between “knowing” and “explaining”? It is found in the space between awake & asleep, between light & dark, between murky & clear. In that quiet transitional space, I find Guidance, Spirit, Revelation, The Sacred. In that space, I feel my truest heart’s desire. It is a place to try to sit and wait for my awareness to catch up. Here, if I am patient enough, I can usher the unspoken, divine, pre-revealed wisdom into the earthly reality we call life.
Try as I may to reveal my inner thoughts in writing today, I felt an invitation to make the attempt with spoken words. I picked up my phone and created the following RAW & Unedited video.

Revelation Comes in the Space Between Awake and Asleep
These quiet questions are to help you tap into the deep place of wisdom and creation within you. Writing your responses in a journal helps you focus. Even if you can't quite answer fulling, attempting to answer these questions will help you be aware of the answers when the DO arrive.
What is it that I have longed for & not yet succeeded in creating in my life?
What is one small change I can make to respond to the longing of my heart?
Take time to notice nature as you turn these questions over in your mind. Take time to notice how you feel as you try on different ideas. Don't rush to an arbitrary finish line. The process is more important than "THE" answer.
What you thoughts first thing in the morning when you wake up and last thing at night as you go to sleep. Try to leave time in your day to linger there, for that is where you can get inklings of what is in your heart and what is your "next" step.
If you awaken from a dream that seems meaningful to you, it may be a "longing in your heart" trying to reveal itself. Take time to ponder and write or draw parts of your dream to help bring its message into your awareness.
