Module21
Healing begins when we bravely see the stories we've mistaken for truth.
A NOTE FROM CAROL
Module 2 — Bravely Seeing Truth
There have been times in my life when things were not working, but I didn't understand why. Slowly, I began to recognize that something I believed to be true was not.
That realization was often difficult because the way I related to myself and the world was built on assumptions I had carried for years without questioning them.
For example, I believed that to be a "good" woman, I should be thin and endlessly productive. When chronic fatigue left me needing daily naps and far less able to accomplish what I once could, I struggled to believe I was still good.
It takes courage to see that what you thought was true might not be. Yet every meaningful change in my life began when I stopped arguing with reality long enough to see what was actually there.
This practice is not about judging yourself. It is about creating enough space to honestly see what is true.

Awareness grows as we learn to meet ourselves
with honesty and compassion.

Many of the beliefs that shape our lives operate quietly beneath our awareness. We may not realize how deeply they influence the way we see ourselves, others, and the world.
This practice invites you to notice those hidden assumptions with courage rather than judgment. As old stories come into the light, they lose their power, making room for greater freedom, healing, and authentic change.
Like the practice itself, this companion space continues to unfold.

PAUSE FOR REFLECTION & PRACTICE
Before moving on, take a moment to pause.
These reflections are not meant to be completed perfectly.
Simply notice what arises.
REFLECTION PROMPT
What truth have you been quietly aware of, but reluctant to fully acknowledge?
A SHORT PRACTICE
"You" are not your thoughts. "You" are the awareness that notices your thoughts, and you can choose thoughts that better serve you.
A simple exercise to strengthen that awareness is to count your breaths.
Without changing your breathing, simply count ten breaths. One inhale and one exhale count as a single breath.
If you have never tried this, don't be surprised if your mind wanders before you reach ten.
If it does, smile when you notice it and gently bring your attention back to your breathing.
Inhale and exhale... one.
Inhale and exhale... two.
Inhale and exhale... three...
The practice you are exploring in this module is part of a larger journey.
Each module shines light on a different aspect of awareness and healing, yet all eight work together to create greater spaciousness, presence, and peace.
Return often. Notice what changes. Trust what unfolds.

The journey of Holding Space is a journey home—
to yourself, to love, and to the freedom of caring without carrying.
