New to Yoga?

New to Yoga Plan: (part 1)

If this is your first time working with Carol as a yoga teacher, this is the spot to start!

...Two things to know...

  • 1. The Body: This is what people usually think about learning...the POSES

  • 2. The Mind: Did you know that Yoga is as much about the MIND (maybe more so) than the body?

The Body: POSES (Asana)

Start by learning the opening series called Sun Salutes.

Regardless of your fitness level, you can begin here FOR FREE!

I created a playlist of videos on YouTube. Simply start with video 1 and move through each one.

Now listen, you can't just watch it, you must also DO it with your body. The pink button below will take you to the YouTube playlist.

(It is simple and helpful if you "like", "subscribe" and "comment" on YouTube.)

There is no way around it, if your body is blocked, hurting, sick, hard to move, it is going to affect your life.

The series of POSES taught in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

--are meant to free us from whatever stops us from feeling good physically.

--They are meant to help us have access to more of our energy.

--They are meant to allow us to think more clearly.

--They are meant to help us smooth out our emotions.

You can still benefit from yoga without the poses, but it's hard to overstate the benefits of learning and doing an asana practice.

In Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, we memorize a set series of poses. Once you have memorize even a small part of the series, it is yours forever.

Once you are familiar with Sun Salutes and the overview video, you graduate and are

NO LONGER A BEGINNER!

You are ready to go to the POSES page to continue

New to Yoga Plan: (part 2)

Yoga is more than asana poses. Learn and practice the other 7 Limbs.

Remember the 2 things?

  • The Body: This is what people usually think about learning...the POSES

  • The Mind: Did you know that Yoga is as much about the MIND (maybe more so) than the body?

The Mind: Our Most Powerful Ally

There is no way around it, if your body is blocked, hurting, sick, hard to move, it is going to affect your life.

But HOW and WHY do the poses work on your mind?

When you know the answers to those questions, you feel more motivated to get to your mat and practice the poses.

A 2000-year-old small book called "The Yoga Sutras" does a remarkable job of showing the reader how the brain works. Modern-day psychology has actually been built upon this exact knowledge. The mind--in other words, the central nervous system--controls every aspect of our life. Understanding your unique mind/system gives you the freedom to make choices that literally change your life.

This knowledge is available to ANYONE for FREE. Studying with us helps you to organize and set aside the time to learn.

Whether you choose to practice poses or not, you can study your mind and learn how to make it your ally instead of your enemy. You can learn

--why some relationships you have are challenging

--why you or others tend to be anxious or depressed

--why you or others are open or closed-minded

--why you or others fight or procrastinate or struggle to concentrate, or sleep.

Armed with this knowledge, you can train your mind.

You have the power to change your life.
